How to Choose a Chemistry Tutor in Durban

How to Choose a Chemistry Tutor in DurbanFor any parent, it is hard to choose a chemistry tutor Durban. However, the task can be done easily by understanding the needs of their child and the present situation in the city. The best option for a child is a tutor from out of the city. If you are really keen to hire a tutor, Durban is the place to look out for.First of all, you should select a good tutor from out of the city. For this purpose, there are a few steps that you should follow. Look for a reliable tutor and make sure that he or she is an international. If not, you should avoid it completely.Your list of requirements also depends on the area of study. Most of the children prefer a tutor who has good experience in science topics. Ask about the course requirements and about the stipulations of the company. Your next step would be to compare a few candidates. After that, it is time to review the potential tutor. You should make sure that they are well versed with the present needs and requirements of students in the city. Also check if they have any of the required certification. And finally, get some information about the city. The city is quite small and crowded. Therefore, you have to ensure that your child feels comfortable with all the activities there. Besides, a great atmosphere can't be built without good teachers. The city has a few schools and the good thing is that many of them are also available online.Other safety issues and other curricular concerns can be taken care of as well. You should ensure that the teacher you select is actually a certified teacher. To do this, you can refer to the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). A word of caution however, is that there are plenty of tutors from out of the city out there. So, when you have finally decided upon a tutor, ask for details. You must make sure that the tutor has all the features and certificates that are necessary for your child. Remember, safety is very important .

Exponential Equations

Exponential Equations Exponential equations are basically the tool which is helpful in evaluating the values of unknown variables which are generally in powers. This tool is helpful in evaluating the exponential equations either by comparison method or by taking the logarithmic function in both sides of the equation. This tool eases the calculation steps and hence it easily evaluates the value of unknown variable in exponent or we can say in power. The above concept can be better clarified by taking the suitable examples and the examples are shown below. In this case, for better understanding we will take both the cases that is one of comparison in case of same base and logarithmic method in case of different base. Question 1:- Find x if 3^ (4x) = 27^ (x+1) Solution 1:- Given 3^ (4x) = 27 ^ (x+1) This further implies, 3 ^ (4x) = 3^ (3x+3) Since bases are equal on both sides, it means that its power must also be same. Therefore, 4x = 3x + 3 On solving, we get 4x 3x = 3 Hence x = 3 Question 2:- Find x if 5^x = 10 Solution 2:-Given 5^ x = 10 Since bases are not same, so in this case we need to apply log both sides, Therefore log 5^x = log 10 So x log 5 = log 10 Therefore, x = log 10/log5 By writing down the values of log 10 and log 5, we can easily evaluate the actual value of x.

Awkward Phrasing

Awkward Phrasing The Virtual Writing Tutor has thousands of rules to catch grammar errors and word choice errors, but only just a few to catch awkward phrasings. The reason is that an awkward phrasing is not necessarily incorrect. It is, well, awkward. As such, unless the awkward phrase is really jarring or really common, I usually let it slide. Anyway, it is sometimes difficult to know what exactly is meant by phrases such as, according to my memory, he proposed to me, a car that is a gift, my big parents house, and it hurt my heart. The Virtual Writing Tutor grammar checker is, after all, a machine. It doesnt understand you. It merely scans your sentences for patterns in its database of error definitions. It dont want it to misinterpret what you have written and give you bad feedback. However, here are a few awkward phrasings I couldnt let slide. You must admit, some readers would be left scratching their heads by these surprising sentences. According  to  me/my  memory AWKWARD:   According to me, the best way to get downtown is to take the train.BETTER:   In  my  opinion, the best way to get downtown is to take the train. AWKWARD:   According to my memory, my most spectacular success has to be back when I was 10 years old and I won a sword fighting championship.BETTER:   When I think back on my life, my most spectacular success has to be back when I was 10 years old and I won a sword fighting championship. EXPLANATION:    The phrase According  to  X means If what X says is true. It is strange to doubt the truth of ones own memories. You may often suspect that you have forgotten one or more details, but only mentally deranged people have memories of things that never happened. If you are concerned that you might have might have remembered a detail incorrectly, you can say, If memory serves  me  well or If I am not mistaken. When you say according to me, you sound crazy. Proposed  to  me AWKWARD:   While I was walking, I saw my friend and he proposed to me to embark in his car.BETTER:   While I was walking, I saw my friend and he proposed that I embark in his car. BETTER  STILL:   While I was walking, I saw my friend and he invited  me  to get in his car. EXPLANATION:    The most common context in which we use the phrase he  proposed  to  me is when we wish to say he proposed that we get married. It sounds very formal. Otherwise, companies might propose solutions, as in, my company had  proposed  to  me  that I could come back to work after having the baby which you can find in the BNC-COCA corpus here. In any case, the phrase he proposed to me sounds overly formal for most contexts. A new car that is gift AWKWARD:   She got a new car that is gift from her parents.BETTER:   She got a new car as a gift from her parents. AWKWARD:   Sarah got a job that is nurse.BETTER:   Sarah got a job as a nurse. EXPLANATION:    A relative clause following that helps us identify which one is being discussed. You might say, I bought the dress that was on sale. It tell us, not any dress but a specific dress. Since we already know in our example sentence that she got a car, we dont need to ask Which car? We already know. Rather, what we want to know is why she got the car or how she got it. In such a case, as a gift tells us more useful information. Similarly, we know in our second example that Sarah got a job. Which job is obvious. It is the job that Sarah got. What we want to know is what kind of job. A job as a nurse provides the information we dont already know. My big parents house AWKWARD:   I went to my big parents house early in the morning.BETTER:   I went to my eldest uncles house early in the morning. EXPLANATION:    Only a Korean or somebody who is familiar with Korean culture would understand what a big parent or a big father or a big house is. English does not have a word for the patriarchal head of the family in this way, so you must specify that you are referring to your fathers eldest brother when you write in English. Otherwise, it sounds awkward. It hurt my heart AWKWARD:   When I saw the dogs in their cages, it hurt my heart. BETTER:   When I saw the dogs in their cages, it made my heart ache. EXPLANATION:    While the meaning will be clear to most readers, it hurt my heart is not a common expression in English for the emotional pain we feel when we see something sad or pitiable. Instead, we say my heart aches for X, or it made my heart ache to see X. Please follow and like us:

How to get started with Online Tuition via Skype

How to get started with Online Tuition via Skype Have you ever thought about Tutoring from the comfort of your own home? Online tutoring is an ever-growing field as more and more people are finding the ease of being taught in the comfort of their own homes more viable. Online tuition connects students with private tutors via the internet and the lessons are carried out in real time. This guide is aimed at tutors hoping to set themselves up as an online tutor; widening their student scope and making themselves more available. Installing Skype The first (and most fundamental) thing is to have a computer that is linked to the internet with a good broadband connection. It is also important to invest in a microphone headset as the sound quality will be better than a built-in webcam and microphone that many computers come with today. The microphone headset will usually cost around 10 to 15. The next thing to do is make sure you have Skype on your computer. Skype is basically internet based communication software by Microsoft that specialises in providing free video chat and free voice calls for users from all over the world. Skype users will only require Skype credit (where you will need to pay) when calling landline or mobile numbers. Setting up a Skype account is an easy task and many tutors will already have a Skype account ready. But for those that don't here is a quick and easy guide for setting up a Skype account: First you'll need to download and install the latest version of Skype. It's a very easy process and it is completely free. Just follow these nine simple steps: Type www.skype.com in the address line of your internet browser. Click the download button on the home page and Skype will begin to download. (If the download doesn't start automatically you can start it manually by clicking Start Download Again). If you are prompted to save or open the program always choose save the file to your hard drive. Do not open or run the program during the download process! . Choose an easy to remember location (such as Windows Desktop) and click OK. When your download is complete double-click the Skype Setup program (or click Run if you have the option). When the installer program launches it will ask you to choose a language; select it from a drop-down menu. Read and accept the End User License Agreement to proceed. You may be asked to install certain other browser add-ons but if you don't want them just uncheck the box and click Next. Click the Options button. This page gives you the option to launch Skype as soon as the installation is complete. The box is already checked (just uncheck the box if you don't want it to launch right away). Click I agree - Install. Skype will ask you to set up an account by entering a Name, a Skype Name and Password. The next screen asks for your e-mail, country and city. Once you complete this Skype will automatically launch. And that's the installation process done! You are now well on your way to start the online tutoring process! Before that, let's take a look at how to get started with Skype. Getting Started With Skype Getting started with SkypeOnce the installation process has been completed a screen will pop up to help you get started exploring Skype. You'll be able to: See what you can do with Skype. Here you'll find information about both the free and paid features of Skype. Check that your sound functions.Test your speakers, microphone and Webcam to make sure they are all working properly. Find friends and import contactsYou'll be able to search for people and check whether your email contacts are on Skype. After you have explored and got to know a bit more about the program you'll want to set up your Skype name and password. Your Skype name is what other people on Skype see when they contact you i.e. GeographyTutorEmma133. Setting up your Skype name and password: Click the Don't have a Skype Name? (The Create a New Account page opens). In the Enter Skype Name box, enter the name you have decided to use. Skype names must start with a letter, be between 6 and 32 characters long, include letters and numbers and have no spaces. They should always be in lower-case. Choose a Password and enter it in the Password box. A Skype Password must be between 6 and 20 characters and must contain at least one number and one letter. All Skype passwords are case sensitive so make sure you pick a password that is easy for you to remember! Select the check box to accept the Skype End User License Agreement and Privacy Statement. Click Next to continue to another Create Your Account Screen and enter your email address. This is optional but recommended. Enter your country, region and city.Again optional but useful for when others search for you. Now that you have your Skype set up you are ready to start your online tutoring. It's a good idea to set up your Skype profile by providing some information that will help other users find you more easily. To do this just open your Skype Profile screen and choose Skype -Profile - Edit and fill out any relevant information you feel necessary. It would be a good idea to fill in the AboutMe section just to give students an overview of who you are and what you offer in terms of tutoring. Making A Skype Call Now let's take a quick look at how to initiate a Skype call so that you are ready to contact your student for their first online lesson. Double-click the student's Skype Name. This will open your contact's profile window. On the screen there will be a video and a telephone icon.Double-clicking the video icon you will initiate a video call with your student. By double-clicking the telephone icon you will initiate a call without video.3. When you student answers the call, just talk! And that's it! It really is that simple. June Language Challenge Update Learning Brazilian Portuguese

June Language Challenge Update Learning Brazilian Portuguese Jairet has his own blog called The Crummy Life and is taking the June Challenge and just posted this update. Reposted with permission. Original Post here. June italki Language Challenge Update: Brazilian Portuguese Olá! Tudo bem? This month I am participating in the June italki Language Challenge. Maybe you saw my first post with my public pledge video, where I said what I aim to accomplish and used a bit of português brasileiro. What did you think? Well it is time for an update, because week three has just begun. With my birthday in week one, and being in a wedding in week two, life has been packed  to the gills  with action and excitement. I originally set the goal of taking three classes per week so that I could easily expect to meet the challenge of completing twelve total hours in June. Then, my family gave me the dates for our annual trip to Lake Tahoe, June 22nd 29th! Luckily this happened in week one. I made the decision to up the ante  to finish the challenge a week early so that I dont have to finish the challenge while on vacation, just to take away the need to be in front of a computer while I want to be on the lake, on a hike, or rock climbing with my wild man father. In week one, I completed three sessions. In week two, I completed four more sessions. Now we are in week three, and I have completed one more lesson. Also, I have four more scheduled before the family fills up the cars on the 22nd. That means I have completed eight, and I have sessions nine through twelve scheduled already! I am on track to complete the challenge on June 21st, over one week early. Thats all for now. If you have more interest in what italki is all about, check out my previous post or head tothe italki website for details. Muito obrigado por ter vindo. Até mais! Math Homework Study Techniques and Across-Discipline Skills

Math Homework Study Techniques and Across-Discipline Skills When it comes to discussing homework, many parents (and their children), as well as more self-driven high school and college students, would consider mathematics - such as algebra, trigonometry, calculus or simple multiplication and division - to be one of the more difficult subjects, or even the most difficult subject required for completion of general ed’s. Not everyone suffers with their math homework, and those that do struggle seem to find it greatly difficult, and grind their wheels to a halt quickly, while those who succeed apparently possess an innate talent for the matter, and stride forward easily. So how to get around this impasse? Why It Pays to do Your Math HomeworkWell, the good news is that studies have shown there is a correlation, between doing your math homework and achieving a better grade in the class, that is higher than for any other subject. So it pays to do your math homework, to do it well, and to do it repeatedly. In this first, introductory program, I’m going to outline some math homework study skills that you can use regardless of which subject or level you are approaching. The first objective of approaching any math problem, or page of problems, should be to construct an overview of the terms, the functions and operations being shown on the page, and from the chapter in the textbook it is drawn from. It is important to develop your basic math vocabulary, so that you can easily identify the system being displayed and the appropriate steps to be taken. Often, on long standardized tests, it is the math section that confounds, disrupts and impedes a student’s progress; so it is necessary to learn how to identify quickly which type of problem you are dealing with, and to apply the correct method to find the solution.VocabularyIn statistics, you will need to become familiar with mode, median, standard variation, expected value, conditional probability and discrete variables, for example; in algebra, you will need to know complex fract ions, binomials, dependent variables and exponential growth. Facility with the important vocabulary of the topic will enable you not only to swiftly move through the problems as they are presented, but will also allow you to communicate with your teacher, your tutor or your parent about the material being presented. Not all of these terms will be relevant for each math homework assignment, but it is important to get a lay of the land and an understanding of what you are being presented with before diving into the intricacies of the problems.Answer ReviewChecking your homework answers is also a two-way process, in which you can either scan the answers beforehand, to get an idea of what kind of solutions you will be generating, or you can review each answer individually to make sure you do not proceed without a correct method. Or, you can self-test by checking all the answers only after you have completed the total assignment. That way, you will prepare for an eventual quiz and you wi ll get an idea of which math homework problems you tend to struggle with, and which problems you find to be a breeze.ConclusionMath homework is certainly subject-specific, and will vary in complexity depending on grade level and sequence within the course. However, using these strategies for vocabulary retention and answer review, you can self-assess and determine what skills you need to develop, which problems present challenges for you, and what concepts or terms you are unfamiliar with.

How to Prepare for Your Skype Interview

How to Prepare for Your Skype Interview image via http://www.linkedportugal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/ScreenClip4.png 1.  It’s a real interview Maybe I’ve just heard one too many horror stories, but I’m über paranoid about something going wrong in a Skype interview.   Maybe it was the story about the man who was on a Skype voice call only to realize that his webcam was somehow on and that his interviewer could now see his tighty-whiteys and him picking his nose.   Maybe it was the story about the woman accidentally dropping her laptop only to reveal that she had dressed professionally only from the waist up.   Maybe the combination of these stories made me take a Skype interview just as seriously as the in-person version.   Whatever the case, be absolutely professional because it is a real interview that could either potentially lead to a very real job or internship or to a real embarrassing moment. image via http://www.webrecruit.co.uk 2.  Dress the part Rock that suit.   Wear the heck out of that skirt and blazer.   Make sure that your hair is perfect and that your teeth aren’t sporting last night’s broccoli and that you are basically ready for a work-attire photo shoot.   And definitely don’t wear a button-up on the top but your lucky superman boxers on the bottom unless you’re willing to take the risk that your interviewer may get to glimpse your favorite superhero during a discussion of your past work experiences.   Bottom line: get dressed to go out for an interview and then just sit down and open up your laptop instead. image via http://www.investigationleaders.com 3.  Choose your surroundings carefully Again this comes down to being professional, and presenting yourself in a professional environment is crucial.   Don’t conduct your interview in front of the NSYNC poster that you’ve enhanced with your 5th grade lipstick kisses.   Don’t sit in your bed or outside or in the kitchen.   Make sure that you place your laptop on a level surface like a desk or a table so that the picture doesn’t shake distractingly and mess up your Skype interview. image via http://phunutoday.vn 4.  Test your connection You do not want to have to pantomime “I can’t hear you” to your interviewer as soon as the Skype call begins.   If the technical difficulties are on his or her end then there’s nothing that you can do about it, but you should absolutely check that your own computer is up to speed before the interview.   It literally takes less than a minute (you just push the “test call” icon on your Skype homepage) and could potentially save you from having to spend your interview diagnosing the problem instead of talking up your superb advertising skills. image via http://i.huffpost.com 5.  Look at the camera We are all taught to maintain eye contact during a conversation, accomplishing this looks different over Skype.   The natural thing to do is to look into the interviewer’s eyes on the screen, but this will make it seem as if you are looking slightly down as opposed to in his or her eyes.   Instead, look at the camera the entire time.   This may need a little bit of practice (especially when it’s distracting to look at yourself to make sure that you look as stunning as usual) but it can make a huge difference.   Making eye contact is crucial to presenting yourself well. image via http://static.framar.bg So just prepare thoroughly, think quickly, and good luck on your Skype interview! Search through the Uloop job listings to find your next Part-Time or Full-Time employment or Internship opportunity. Employers are waiting to hear from you!

Can I Exchange Tutoring Services For Chiropractic Services?

Can I Exchange Tutoring Services For Chiropractic Services? As an administrator of an online tutoring website, I get asked many times why I would give tutoring services for chiropractic services to patients who are seriously ill. The underlying assumption that the patient has already been diagnosed by a licensed and trained physician is one reason. In today's hyper-competitive world, to be an affiliate of the good healthcare provider, you need to be an expert in your field. So when you talk about your site as an online medical practice and potential affiliate of the chiropractor, it is an accepted truth that you must be trained and skilled in your field. But still, you cannot run an online medical practice that can do any business. Yes, your site could be able to fill the gap between students and their chiropractic care that a student has been turned down by his/her orthopedic provider, who would rather perform the necessary surgical procedures for the sake of the patient's good health . But the people who give out these referrals have to have their hearts in the right place - otherwise you can not live on the 'tip of the iceberg'.This is why in my book, it is said that there is only one way to be an expert in healthcare practitioners - to be a trained healthcare provider. When someone comes to you for tutoring services for chiropractic services, they need to know that you are qualified to provide such treatment. You must have an on-going education in this area. You must have completed at least a year of schooling in medical matters related to health issues of the body and the mind. This is also the period in your life when you will be doing the studying. It is said that an accredited school, especially when it's of a recognized national accreditation, gives you the required minimum educational requirement to begin a chiropractic program. If you have completed the required education in the United States, you should beable to get a chiropractic certification in abou t a year or so. That is, if you have a sense of urgency to learn everything you can about the field. In an online medical practice, you will need to show all the completed certificates as proof of completion in this academic course. You will also have to acquire continuing education to up your expertise. You cannot outsource your knowledge from the outside. It will not do for you to be knowledgeable only in your specialty area. You should also be willing to share your knowledge and experiences with patients who are turning to you for tutoring services for chiropractic services. You should make sure that you are willing to provide the necessary professional services to provide complete care to patients. That is the only way to be a trusted and certified healthcare practitioner. As a freelance medical practitioner, you cannot do that. You cannot help patients find answers to their healthcare issues if you do not have the right education to do so.You can not survive in this world if you will not be an expert in your specialty. Your website will only get good traffic from the sick and the dying, which is not a very hospitable thing to do. However, it is the will of God that you should be an expert in the medical field that you will be in close contact with.
